“A number of talents and staff” in WWE have tested positive for COVID this week, according to PWInsider.
They report that an unspecified number of wrestlers and staff were feeling “run down” after this weekend’s WWE shows, and some have since tested positive for COVID, while others are waiting for their test results.
Friday’s SmackDown was already taped last Friday, but WWE will return to the road on Sunday at Madison Square Garden for the start of their holiday tour. Monday’s Raw will also be live, and WWE has more house shows scheduled throughout the week, which will very likely be affected by the positive COVID results.
WWE also has their “Day 1” PPV scheduled for Saturday, January 1, which could be affected if wrestlers need to quarantine.
There’s no word on which wrestlers tested positive.
