Cody has been removed from the TNT Championship match against Sammy Guevara, which was scheduled to take place at tomorrow’s AEW Battle of the Belts on TNT at 8 PM ET.
Excalibur said that Cody “has not been medically cleared to compete” and it was also said that he was removed “due to medical protocol.”
Instead, Dustin Rhodes will wrestle Sammy Guevara to crown an interim TNT Champion. It’s likely that Cody will face the winner of the match for the title once he’s ready to return.
