As noted before, Cody Rhodes recently signed a multi-year contract with WWE and made his return to the company at this past weekend’s WrestleMania 38 event in Arlington, Texas.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Rhodes’ current contract with WWE included terms that allows him to work on outside projects. One of these projects reportedly involves a new potential television series called “American Spirits.” A pilot episode for this new potential series reportedly was filmed the week before WrestleMania 38.
Meltzer reported that WWE President Nick Khan was the main person responsible for allowing Rhodes to have special terms in his WWE contract. This reportedly would allow Rhodes the ability to continue working on the Go-Big Show reality television competition series should a new season be ordered by TBS and also TBS deciding to bring him back as one of the judges. Meltzer reported that TBS has yet to make any official decision regarding the future of that television series.
In regards to the Rhodes to the Top series, Meltzer reported that Rhodes will not be able to continue that series due to it being an AEW production and not a TBS or TNT one.
