WWE’s upcoming WrestleMania Backlash 2022 event next month in Providence, Rhode Island is currently scheduled to feature a Tag Team Championship Unification match between The Usos and RK-Bro. This would be the second set of championships unified, following the unification of the WWE and Universal Championships at WrestleMania 38 earlier this month.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the recent rumors and reports of WWE planning to end their current brand split era are not true based on his sources. Meltzer reported that despite WWE unifying another set of championships, WWE officials have not held any talks regarding the idea of ending the brand split and unifying their rosters.
Meltzer also reported that while it could be possible in the future due to Vince McMahon’s habits of changing his mind on plans frequently, this is something that is currently not being planned.
