The main points: WWE® Reports 2008 Fourth Quarter and Full Year Results STAMFORD, Conn., February 24, 2009 – World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) today announced financial results for its fourth quarter ended December 31, 2008. Revenues totaled $125.4 million as compared to $132.6 million in the prior year quarter while operating income was $23.3 million as compared to $24.7 million in the prior year quarter. Net income was $13.6 million, or $0.18 per share (diluted), as compared to $21.5 million, or $0.30 per share (diluted), in the prior year quarter.

Matt Hardy has posted another in-character blog warning his brother Jeff as the two are scheduled to wrestle on this week’s edition of SmackDown. “If Jeff Hardy has any courage, if he is truly a man-he will step into the ring with me on Smackdown and we can settle this once and for all,” Hardy wrote. “Let me prove to everyone what they have known all along, even if they refused to admit it.. When it comes down to Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, I am the superior performer and wrestler. Period.”
