Tony Khan said in May that the Trios belts had already been made and he was waiting to pull the trigger, saying that he felt the division would be stronger when Kenny Omega was ready to return. “I’ll be 100% honest. This is the most-blunt answer I can give. I’m much more receptive to doing it when Kenny Omega is back,” Khan said. “When Kenny Omega is back, the trios division is that much stronger.”
It was recently rumored that AEW was hopeful that Omega would be back from his injuries in time for the All Out PPV. Another rumor from Dave Meltzer said that Omega may be involved in an angle with the Young Bucks upon his return, so the Trios Championship could factor into that.
