The theme for Monday’s episode of Dancing With The Stars was personal stories, with the dancers choosing a song that is important to them. Chris Jericho chose The Beatles’ “Let It Be”.
In a pre-taped segment, Jericho recalled the story of his mother suffering an accident when he was training to be a wrestler, which confined her to a wheelchair until her passing in 2005. He prepared to give up wrestling but she insisted he continue pursuing his dreams.
Jericho said his real name is Chris Irvine and that for the first time in his professional life he would be performing as himself and not a character.
Introduced as Chris Irvine, he danced the rumba with partner Cheryl Burke to receive a score of 21. The judges felted he lacked technical skill but complimented him on the emotional connection.
Also note that there were no WWE talents in attendance at the show this week.
