As noted before, AEW held a mandatory talent meeting with most of their talent prior to the start of Wednesday’s Dynamite show in Cleveland, Ohio.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that AEW CEO Tony Khan was “very animated and impassioned” and broken down a lot of the new systems and structures recently implemented within the company. Khan reportedly told talent how these new changes would make things better for them in the company.
Khan reportedly also stated that AEW was in an industry “that has long been dominated by WWE” and he had put everything into it to make things better for talents. Khan reportedly also stated that Megha Parekh, AEW’s Chief Legal Office, had sent an email prior to the meeting to WWE’s co-CEOs Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon warning them to “not to tamper” with his contracted talent.
Fightful Select reported similar details from their sources and provided additional details regarding this recent talent meeting. It was reported that this meeting took place between 3PM and 4PM Eastern.
It was also reported that AEW EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks’ Nick and Matt Jackson also spoke at the meeting stating that their door is always open to talent and they can also be reached to for any concerns talent may have in the company.
