AEW reportedly held a major backstage meeting with talent prior to the start of last week’s AEW Dynamite show in El Paso, Texas, according to Fightful Select.
It was reported that their sources stated that this meeting involved both Thunder Rosa and all of AEW’s female locker room who were present backstage for that night’s tapings. This meeting reportedly was meant to be AEW’s effort at smoothing over the issues several of their female locker room has had with Rosa.
Those spoken to reportedly stated that Rosa did a lot of “making amends” for several issues she had caused backstage during her time in the company. Those same people reportedly also stated that several of AEW’s female locker room had taken issue with Rosa’s way of handling things backstage believing that she had made others look like bullies, sandbagging opponents during matches, not traveling with AEW for shows but doing so for other work, and questioning the legitimacy of her injury. In regards to the last two points, it was reported that Rosa address those issues publicly during the meeting.
One AEW official spoken to stated that they felt the talent meeting was productive and hoped for it to be a “clean slate” for Rosa in the company.
In regards to Rosa’s injury status, those close to Rosa stated that she has yet to be medically cleared but is close to doing so. In regards to Rosa’s recent work for AEW’s Spanish commentary team, it was reported that she has been happy to participate in it.
