Kenny Omega AEW Contract Update

As noted before, Kenny Omega’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire in early 2023 and as early as the end of this month.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources confirmed that AEW has officially extended the length of Omega’s contract to account for the time he was away from the company due to injury-related reasons. Meltzer reported that similar to WWE contracts, AEW contracts contain terms allowing the company to extend contracts to cover time missed due to injuries.

Meltzer reported that Omega’s contract is now believed to expire as late as this November but this entirely depends on if AEW will opt to go for the full length of his injury time. AEW reportedly has yet to finalize the amount of the added injury time for Omega’s current deal.

Meltzer reported that besides Omega, The Young Bucks’ Nick and Matt Jackson’s contracts with AEW are also currently set to expire by the end of this year. Both Omega and the Young Bucks reportedly have the same agent, Barry Bloom, who will be representing them for talks for a potential new deal in the company.
