Ring of Honor held tapings for the relaunch of their ROH TV series this past weekend at the Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that several indie talents who were brought in for the tapings were upset over not being used. Meltzer reported that a lot of indie talents had canceled their weekend indies bookings in order to be able to attend ROH’s tapings and some were frustrated to not be used in the end.
Meltzer reported that monetary issues was not a factor in their frustrations since they all were paid more money than what they would have made on their indie shows that weekend.
One indie promoter spoken to reportedly stated that he had lost four of his top stars for that weekend and none of them were used for ROH’s tapings. This same person reportedly stated that while he was not mad over the issue and was happy for his talents to try to get some national exposure, he felt those talents would have increased their value had they actually been used at the tapings.
In regards to notable names brought in and not used, Meltzer reported that Dak Draper was one of those talents who was in attendance backstage but not used during the two-day tapings.
