As noted before, AEW and Warner Bros Discovery are currently working on plans to launch a new third weekly AEW wrestling television show in the future.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW officials are currently planning for this new upcoming weekly series to debut by “at least this July if not earlier” baring any changes.
Meltzer reported that AEW is currently rumored to be holding the debut tapings for this new upcoming series at their recently rescheduled July 8th “televised” event in Regina, Canada. This event will be replacing a live Rampage show that was originally scheduled to take place on July 14th in the city.
Meltzer reported that AEW CEO Tony Khan did not provide any comments regarding the recent schedule change and AEW officials have been quiet in regards to their plans for this new July 8th event.
In regards to the potential network for AEW’s upcoming third weekly series, Meltzer reported that it is currently not known if this new show will be airing on TNT or TBS. Meltzer reported that if the new show is planned to air on TNT, then it will face a lot of sports-related preemptions throughout the year while it would face fewer preemptions if it were to air on TBS.
