As noted before, Mercedes Mone is currently in talks with Bushiroad for a potential contract extension with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom. Mone’s contract is currently rumored to be expiring after this Sunday’s All Star Grand Queendom 2023 event for Stardom.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that those spoken to within in Bushiroad confirmed that Mone’s contract was originally set to expire after this Sunday’s Stardom event. Meltzer reported that both Mone and Bushiroad officials are still in talks regarding a potential contract extension for at least one more match after this weekend’s Stardom event.
Meltzer also reported that Mone was the person who came up with the idea for her appearance at Stardom’s Cinderella Tournament 2023 Finals this past Saturday in Tokyo, Japan. Stardom officials reportedly did not originally plan for her to be booked for the show but changed their plans after agreeing to her idea for a surprise angle involving her and Mayu Iwatani. Stardom head booker Rossy Ogawa reportedly has been happy towards Mone over her having many ideas for her involvement in the company and is up to doing stuff.
