One New Match & Updated Match Added to NXT Battleground

Tuesday’s NXT show featured one new match and one updated match officially announced for the card of WWE’s NXT Battleground event, which takes place on May 28th in Lowell, Massachusetts.

In regards to the new match announced, this is a NXT Tag Team Championship match of The Creed Brothers vs. Gallus (c). This match was made following an in-ring promo segment involving Gallus mocking Tony D’Angelo & Stacks and the Creed Brothers. This resulted in the Creed Brothers coming out and Julius telling Gallus that it sounded like they were avoiding a challenge for their belts instead. Julius also stated that while they did call them out last week, they wanted to say it to their face this week for their official match challenge at NXT’s Battleground event. Following a brief back-and-forth banter, the two teams started brawling resulting in Stacks coming out to even the odds for the Creed Brothers.

In regards to the updated match, this was announced to be a NXT Women’s Championship Tournament Finals match of Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton. This match was made official following Valkryia defeating Cora Jade and Stratton defeating Roxanne Perez in semi-finals matches on the show. Following Stratton’s victory over Perez, Stratton and Valkryia had a staredown at ringside nearby the NXT Women’s title stand while a mystery hooded person launched a sneak attack on Perez as she was walking to the backstage.
