WWE reportedly is currently working on plans for the third match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar to take place at this August’s SummerSlam 2023 event, according to the Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that this was something that WWE officials are currently planning for the card of this year’s SummerSlam event on August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that this third match for Rhodes and Lesnar’s feud will not be a standard match and instead will carry a stipulation that “we haven’t seen in a while” in WWE.
“It’s not just going to be a straight match. They’ve got some sort of stip that allegedly we have not seen in a while. That to me, means not Hell in a Cell. So, I wonder what stip they might be coming up with for the third match between these two. I hope it’s not Ring of Fire, that’s one I don’t need to see again.”
One match stipulation that has been rumored to have been recently rejected as an idea was a Dog Collar match, according to notable Twitter wrestling insider Better Wrestling Experience (former Boozer Rasslin). It was reported (via Cultaholic) that their sources stated that it is currently not known if it was Rhodes or Lesnar who had specifically turned down the match idea but Rhodes is currently interested in doing in the future “with a different opponent that’s not a monster like Brock.”
