Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Stardom and AEW officials have held recent talks regarding the possibility of Stardom talent working at the upcoming AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling co-promoted Forbidden Door II event.
Those spoken to from within Stardom and AEW reportedly stated that there have been some hurdles that could potentially prevent this from becoming a reality in the end. In regards to potential matchups, it was reported that Toni Storm’s name was specifically brought up for a potential match against a Stardom talent at the event.
It was reported that one of the main talking points between AEW and Stardom involves which Stardom talent would be available to work at Forbidden Door II on June 25th in Toronto, Canada due to Stardom will be holding their own event in Tokyo, Japan on that same day. It was reported that this issue is something both sides are currently trying to figure out how to make it work and also something that AEW officials are currently hopeful of making it happen if they can pull it off.
It was reported that AEW and Stardom had similar conversations in 2022 for the first Forbidden Door event, which eventually led to Thunder Rosa facing off against Toni Storm instead in an all-AEW Women’s match for the show.
