AEW reportedly recently signed Impact Wrestling producer and indie wrestler Jimmy Jacobs to a backstage producer job in the company, according to the Wrestling Observer.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that Jacobs had recently left Impact for a new backstage producer job at AEW.
Jacobs’ involvement with AEW was initially reported by Fightful Select who stated that their sources stated that Jacobs was seen in attendance backstage ahead of tonight’s Dynamite show in Washington, D.C. It was reported that those spoken to had hinted that Jacobs would be helping out with the company’s creative team as part of AEW’s current expansion of their creative team for the debut of their upcoming new Collision series. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Jacobs’ appearance backstage came as a surprise to many within AEW and he had exchanged hugs and pleasantries with numerous people backstage.
Prior to his hiring, Jacobs had worked for Impact as a member of their creative team since late 2017 and had also worked for WWE as a member of their creative team from March of 2015 to October of 2017.
