As noted before, AEW has been in deep negotiations with Warner Bros Discovery for the past several months for a potential new television rights deal.
Fightful Select reported that their sources within Warner Bros Discovery stated that one of the major proposals from their end to AEW officials involves the expansion of AEW’s pay-per-view events schedule. One WBD source spoken to reportedly stated that it is a very likely possibility that AEW will expand their current PPV schedule into a new monthly PPV schedule. It was reported that this is something that WBD officials have wanted from AEW.
It was reported that it is currently not known if these would be standalone PPV events like with AEW’s current PPV events or be included in a potential streaming deal for WBD’s MAX service.
It was reported that AEW has already expanded their special PPV events schedule with the addition of Forbidden Door last year and AEW All In this year.
It was also reported that nothing has been finalized for a deal and this idea could change but at the moment, an expanded PPV schedule for AEW has been discussed as part of AEW’s current talks with WBD.
