Saturday’s Power Struggle 2023 event for New Japan Pro Wrestling in Osaka, Japan featured Bryan Danielson making a surprise appearance.
Following Tomohiro Ishii, Hiroshi Tanahashi, & Kazuchika Okada successfully retaining their NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship against TMDK at the show, the lights suddenly went out. When the lights came back on, Danielson made a surprise appearance in a video that aired on the giant screen.
Danielson, who was sporting a bandage over his eye, and called out Okada over him breaking his bones the last two times they have wrestled together. This was in reference to Danielson’s broken arm injury he suffered at this past June’s Forbidden Door II event and his broken orbital bone injury at the October 25th Dynamite show that was storyline attributed to Okada.
Danielson then issued a challenge to Okada for a rematch at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom 18 event on January 4, 2024 at the Tokyo Dome and promised to break Okada’s arm in revenge so that he would never be able to do a Rainmaker ever again.
Following the end of the video, Okada responded accepting Danielson’s challenge for Wrestle Kingdom 18.
An eye for an eye, an arm for an arm on the mind of the American Dragon!@bryandanielson has challenged @rainmakerXokada for Wrestle Kingdom 18!
