PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that McIntyre’s contract is currently believed to be between two to three years in length with one source being under the current belief that it is for three years.
Johnson’s video announcement of McIntyre’s new deal reportedly was something that had been taped a while ago in anticipation by him of a deal being reached between McIntyre and WWE.
Fightful Select reported that their sources provided additional details regarding McIntyre’s new deal. It was reported that WWE officials had started talks with McIntyre for a new contract this past March. McIntyre and WWE officials reportedly went through a lot of back and forth negotiations before McIntyre became happy with the outcome of the talks and how it will affect his family.
It was also reported that McIntyre’s new contract was stated to be a “multi-year, big money” contract. It was also reported that more contracts similar to McIntyre’s deal in terms of monetary amounts is currently expected to be finished or announced soon for veteran WWE talents with expiring contracts.
