Penta El Zero Miedo AEW Contract Status Update
As noted before, Penta El Zero Miedo’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire between this August and September.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Penta had been unhappy some time back when he was not allowed to work at AEW shows that included CMLL talent due to him also being an AAA talent but this issue is believed to have been resolved.
Meltzer reported that AEW CEO Tony Khan has indicated that he currently feels confident that Penta would stay with the company. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Penta has been looking at buying the rights to his ring name to make sure he could take the gimmick to WWE if he were to decide to join them instead.
Meltzer also reported that the current belief by some people is that Penta is currently looking at exploring his options once his current deal expires.
Adam Copeland Comments on His Fractured Tibia Injury at AEW Double or Nothing 2024
As noted before, Adam Copeland has been out of action for AEW since this past May’s Double or Nothing 2024 event due to a fractured tibia injury.
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Copeland as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Copeland’s thoughts about his current mindset for his character in AEW going forward.
“Part of me goes, ‘Well, you recreate yourself.’ But each injury kind of adds itself to the character that I was already portraying, which — to be honest — is not that far removed from me at this point.
I don’t know how much I change, honestly. I think it’s just one more instance of, like, grizzled vet fighting back from another one.”
Copeland also gave his thoughts about his fractured tibia injury following him leaping off the cage during his Barbed Wire Steel Cage match for the TNT Championship at AEW’s Double or Nothing 2024 event this past May.
“I think I could have got the same mileage if I did it off the top rope. So, live and learn. But at the same time, I finished the match.
Hopefully also throughout this story, it’s a reminder of what [Malakai] Black brings to the table. And kind of just let people understand, ‘Oh yeah, by the way, there’s this group of badasses that have an insane presentation.’ So, a few missions accomplished and a setback.”

Deonna Purrazzo Comments on Potential of AEW Adding Women’s Tag Titles in the Future
Dexerto held a recent interview with Deonna Purrazzo. One of the topics discussed included Purrazzo’s thoughts about the potential of AEW debuting a new Women’s Tag Team Championship in the future.
“I think Women’s Tag Titles are tricky. I think women easily fall into this category of ‘we’ll just put Deonna and so and so together, you guys be a team.’ If AEW was to introduce Women’s Tag Titles, it would be an amazing opportunity for us women, but I’d want to see a larger story being told. Let’s give women the opportunity to tell stories, make the audience understand why these two people work together.”
