As noted before, this past Saturday’s AEW Collision show in Southaven, Mississippi featured a “hologram” vignette teasing the upcoming debut of a new mystery person in AEW.
LuchaBlog reported that the potential identity of this new mystery masked person is not based on a currently existing luchador mask. This means that this new mystery person is very likely not a masked wrestler currently working in Mexico for a potential new signing by AEW.
A recent episode of the Battleground Podcast featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about AEW’s recent teaser vignette for this new mystery masked wrestler.
“I can confirm that was definitely not me in the mask. It’s somebody I’m excited for. Not necessarily teasing the biggest free agent signing or anything like that, but as a wrestler, we’re really excited about. It’s cool to use vignettes to get people excited about introducing somebody to AEW. It’s going to be something really cool and got people talking. We’ll have more of that. It’s fun.”
