As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against former TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Grant’s lawsuit was put on hold this past April over a request from the U.S. Department of Justice, who launched a criminal investigation into McMahon and joined the lawsuit as an “interested party.” Grant’s lawyers recently filed a petition against a WWE Wellness doctor and his clinic for medical records related to her lawsuit.
Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that Dr. Carlon Colker filed a motion to the Connecticut Superior Court on Wednesday withdrawing his bill of discovery and litigation against Grant.
Prior to his withdrawal, Colker had been seeking all documents from Grant related to her recent petition against him and his clinic. Colker had also been seeking financial damages over his claims that Grant’s accusations against him caused numerous damages to his name and reputation.
In an official statement to Post Wrestling, Grant’s attorney Ann Callis responded to Colker withdrawal of his litigation against Grant.
“Unsurprisingly, Dr. Colker has withdrawn his baseless motion. In the same vein as Mr. McMahon’s recently struck down motion, this was filed simply as yet another frivolous attempt to intimidate Ms. Grant.”
Callis also stated that Grant’s petition against Colker remains active.
“Ms. Grant remains steadfast in her right to seeking documents and information relating to her own medical records, meta-data, Dr. Colker’s prescribed treatments, and any communications between Dr. Colker and other parties concerning Ms. Grant or Ms. Grant’s medical treatment.”
Thurston reported that he had contacted Colker’s legal representatives for comments but they declined to comment as of yet.
