As noted before, Daniel Garcia’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire this Fall but he is currently expected to stay in the company.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that AEW officials are currently less confident that Garcia will be signing a new contract to remain with the company. Meltzer reported that this does not mean Garcia will be leaving but AEW officials are not as strong in their belief as they had been a month ago over his future in the company.
In regards to Garcia’s current absence from AEW programming since their All Out 2024 event earlier this month, Meltzer reported that the reason is due to Garcia has yet to sign a new deal with the company. Meltzer reported that AEW CEO Tony Khan is often hesitant to put talent on AEW programming if he believes someone is not going to sign and are likely to leave the company once their contracts are up.
