As noted before, “Speedball” Mike Bailey’s contract with TNA Wrestling was believed to have expired on November 1st and he is currently expected to join AEW and make his official debut as early as this year’s Continental Classic tournament.
Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Bailey’s contract with TNA has not officially expired yet. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Bailey’s current contract does not expire until the end of 2024 but he is allowed to speak with outside companies starting this month. Bailey reportedly had effectively finished up his commitments with the company at their recent post-Bound For Glory 2024 Impact! tapings in Detroit.
Sapp reported that the current expectation is that Bailey will still be heading to AEW once his TNA contract officially expires.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources provided a correction to an earlier report from him about the belief of Bailey making his official debut at this year’s Continental Classic tournament. Those spoken to reportedly stated that AEW officials have not factored Bailey into their plans for this year’s tournament. Johnson reported that the earliest Bailey could make his potential debut for the company is after the New Year.
Johnson also reported again that Bailey’s contract with TNA had expired on November 1st, which has been disputed by Sapp’s sources.
