As noted before, WWE and TNA Wrestling announced last week that they had recently signed a new multi-year partnership deal to continue the talent crossovers for their NXT and TNA television shows and events.
Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources close to the situation stated that they currently believe that the end goal of WWE’s partnership with TNA is them buying the company.
Meltzer reported that those spoken to stated that one of the key goals from WWE is them wanting to get their NXT brand and TNA on international television markets that they will be leaving for Netflix. Meltzer reported that the idea would be to secure those television deals for TNA solely just so that AEW doesn’t get those television deals.
Meltzer reported that others spoken to stated that their current belief is that TNA’s partnership with WWE will eventually end in disaster for them. The main basis for this belief reportedly revolves around every company that WWE has worked with “always ends up worse off” once the partnership is over.
