Konosuke Takeshita Retains NEVER Openweight Title at 2/28 CMLL Event

Friday’s Super Viernes show for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico featured Konosuke Takeshita defeating Angel de Oro to retain the NJPW NEVER Openweight Championship.

This match was notable for being Takeshita’s official in-ring debut for CMLL.

Following the match, Angel de Oro hugged Takeshita and gave a speech thanking him for the match. Angel also told Takehita that he is welcomed to return to the Arena Mexico at any time. Takeshita responded back with hug in appreciation.
