Former AAA wrestler Australian Suicide, real name Broderick Shepherd, passed away on Thursday at the age of 32.
Shepard’s passing was first announced by Lucha Libre Online and confirmed by both Lucha Libre AAA and Shepard’s wife Vanilla Vargas on social media.
“We mourn the passing of Broderick M. Shepherd, better known as Australian Suicide. We raise our prayers to heaven for his eternal rest.”

Shepard’s professional wrestling career spanned from 2005 to 2025 and was most known for his work under the ring name of Australian Suicide and for his time in AAA. Besides AAA, Shepard also had notable stints in TNA/Impact Wrestling, Lucha Underground, and AEW. During his appearances in AEW, Shepard worked under the ring name of El Australiano.
Shepard’s notable career achievements and accolades included him being a one-time AAA World Cruiserweight Champion and winner of the AAA Copa Triplemanía XXIV in 2016.
