A recent episode of the Johnny I Pro Show featured TNA Wrestling Director of Authority Santino Marella as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Marella’s thoughts about TNA management recently approaching him over the idea of him having another potential in-ring run for his wrestling career.
“I feel really good so, I never intended on ever kind of considering having a wrestling career again. Like, the actual wrestling side. But after speaking with management last week at TNA and they’re like, ‘Man, you’re moving really good. You’re having these matches. You wanna wrestle?’ And I was like, ‘I wanna wrestle with my daughter.’ Not against her. But with her, and they go, ‘Yeah, we’re thinking that at the very least. But also, feel like a little run?’ And I was like, ‘Sh*t, alright. Let’s do it man.’ I rode it until the wheels fell off and then I found out they can put the wheels back on so let’s do it again. So, yeah, we’ll see. This is gonna be an interesting year. I’ll get back in the ring at some point and every time I do get in the ring, everyone’s like, ‘Man, you haven’t lost a step’ so, we’ll see. We’ll see if I can get in there and teach these young kids a thing or two.”
Marella also gave his thoughts about one of the current goals for his wrestling career is to team up with his daughter and NXT talent Arianna Grace in a Mixed Tag Team match at WrestleMania.
“Oh God, I’ll put it out there in the universe. If we can ever do a mixed tag at WrestleMania, father and daughter… TNA, I think we’re planning to do something like that but, of course, you know, WWE, they built the character and they actually own the rights to it again so…”
