In a recent interview with JNMEDIAUK, Bryan Danielson gave his thoughts about his AEW World Championship victory at AEW’s All In 2024 event being a bigger personal moment for him than his WWE Championship victory at WWE’s WrestleMania XXX event. Danielson stated “Oh, definitely All In at Wembley Stadium. The real reason behind that is because of the things surrounding the event itself. Like having my family there. Like my wife and kids being able to get in the ring with me, and knowing that my career was coming to an end, it just felt awesome, and it just felt something like I was grateful for even happening.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Q101, Will Ospreay gave his thoughts about him being hopeful that Revolution Pro Wrestling will be involved at this August’s Forbidden Door event in London, England. Ospreay stated “I really do hope we can get RevPro on there, because they was such a huge hand in my upbringing and my journey in pro wrestling. Like, I would really love to have the British Heavyweight Championship defended on that show.” Ospreay also gave his thoughts about him being featured prominently on the official poster for this year’s event. Ospreay stated “the fact that I’m going to be front and center for that show truly is a blessing and a huge responsibility that I’m willing to take on and ready for that responsibility.” (Transcript h/t: F4WOnline.com)
During the same interview, Will Ospreay also gave his thoughts about Mascara Dorada and Mistico being his choices for an opponent for a potential match at AEW’s upcoming Grand Slam Mexico event. Ospreay stated “Dorada might be a cool one, I think that would be good. Mistico is always great as well just because he’s an icon in Mexico, he’s like super super famous. I feel like I would love to experience that. I feel like there’s a small list of people Tokyo Dome, Wembley Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and Arena Mexico. There’s a small list of people and now I get to be one of those guys on that list, which is such an honor. I’m dead excited, it’s been a long time coming but the one thing I am going to ask is that I need someone of a high standard in CMLL to take me to go get some proper tacos. I am so flipping excited, I cannot tell you how much I’m excited for Mexican food. I love Mexican food so much and to actually get authentic tacos is going to be one of be one of the greatest things i’ll ever do in my wrestling career.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
As noted before, the March 19th AEW Dynamite show in Omaha, Nebraska featured Jon Moxley defeating Cope in a Street Fight match to retain the AEW World Championship that was also notable for a spot involving Moxley being suplexed onto a spiked bat and some of the spikes being stuck on Moxley’s back. In a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, Adam “Cope” Copeland gave his thoughts about the online criticisms over Moxley’s spiked bat spot and how he doesn’t care about the reaction besides the live crowd one. Copeland stated “I don’t really care about the reaction, besides the live reaction. That to me is the reaction that matters and they were into it live. Hey, I get it, I do. Because I understand that it can be diminishing returns and all of those things. You also have to know your audience and you also have to understand that times have changed, for good, bad, however you want to look at it. I like to think I’ve always been a proponent of understanding that things do change; it’s going to be more athletic now, it’s going to be more violent now, and things just naturally tend to get ‘more’ as time goes on. I mean, you look at the internet. I remember dial up and now there’s AI, things change, that’s just the nature of life. That’s the nature of the world. So I don’t really factor in how people react after the fact. I just know they’re into it live, that’s my job, and that’s how I gauge things.“
In a recent interview with Wrestling the Rap Game, Malakai Black, currently known as Aleister Black in WWE, gave his thoughts about his feud with Adam Copeland in AEW. This interview was held prior to Black’s departure from AEW. Black stated “The feud with Adam Copeland is by far one of my favorite things that I’ve done in wrestling. It’s in my top five. Him and me, we kind of meshed that whole feud together and he went to Tony and talked about it. We got a lot of the stuff we wanted to do, we got that in. I’ve always wanted to work with him. He’s one of those people I talk to very frequently to kind of relay stuff to. ‘Hey, what do you think of this,’ and he’ll give me his feedback. I’ve always done that when it comes to promos, character ideas, match ideas, I bounce off of him. When we finally got to work together, it was everything I wanted it to be. The cage match was definitely one of my favorite matches in AEW. He was very giving and we had such a blast in there. I remember, I lost so much blood in that match. They calculated that I lost about a pint and a half, that’s what they think, because I bled for so long and so profusely. It was pouring out. It added so much because you don’t see me bleed that often. That cage match had to be violent and we absolutely added a level of violence in there, that was slow and methodical, but also precise and quick at times. The swerves in there. That whole feud was one of my absolute favorite things. I’m glad I got to do it.” Black also gave his thoughts about Copeland finishing their Steel Cage match despite his fractured leg injury. Black stated “He’s a trooper. He’s a beast.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
