TNA Reportedly Names Two New VPs & Issues New Edict Banning “Excessive Blood” & Blading for Matches

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that TNA Wrestling held a pre-show meeting prior to the start of Friday’s Impact! television tapings in Irvine, California.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that two new Vice Presidents for the company were officially named during this meeting.

Eric Tompkins, TNA Director of TV Production, and Ross Forman, TNA Head of Media Relations, reportedly were both announced to the locker room as having been promoted as the new VPs of the company.

Johnson reported that the official VP titles for Tompkins and Forman were not announced during this meeting.

In a follow-up report, Johnson reported that his sources stated that TNA officials had also informed their locker room that going forward, excessive blood and blading will no longer be permissible by the company.

Johnson reported that in situations of hardway blood or something like a bloody nose or mouth, blood will be allowed due to it being understandable that sometimes blood will be the result of contact in the ring. Johnson also reported that purposeful, heavy bloodletting will now be a thing of the past in the promotion.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that the reason for the decision was in order to protect the health of talents and also keeping current and potential new advertisers and partners in mind for shows.
