Paul Heyman Explains His Reasons for Turning on Roman Reigns

Monday’s WWE RAW show at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska featured Paul Heyman explaining his reasons for turning heel on Roman Reigns at this past April’s WrestleMania 41 event.

During the show, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso came out to talk about his match against Logan Paul at Backlash 2025. This led to Heyman coming out to interrupt and made his way to the ring. Uso responded questioning Heyman’s motives for coming out and brought up how “The Wiseman” betrayed his family.

This led to Heyman responding back and talked about his recent betrayal of Reigns. Heyman stated that he took a stray big dog and turned him into the Tribal Chief. Heyman then talked about how he took issue with Reigns abandoning him after his loss at WrestleMania 40 and how Solo Sikoa and the Togans almost ended his career. Heyman then talked about how his issue with Reigns coming back to get his ula fala and not caring to avenge him.

Heyman then directed his attention towards Uso and talked about his current reign as World Heavyweight Champion and how Uso doesn’t know that title is all about power and control. Heyman stated that Usp doesn’t know how to wield power and control and he doesn’t understand that leverage. After some more words, Heyman stated that Rollins has to be champion and has to have that power. Heyman then issued a challenge on behalf of Rollins for a match for the title at any date and place of Uso’s choosing.

Uso responded back revealing that he wants the match on tonight’s show.

Later in the show, this match was made official for later in the show.

Sheamus Makes Surprise Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Sheamus making a surprise return to the RAW brand.

Sheamus was revealed to be the mystery opponent for Austin Theory’s match that was originally meant to be for Theory’s tag partner Grayson Waller before he weaseled his way out of it and conned Theory into accepting it instead.

This was Sheamus’ first appearance since this past February’s Royal Rumble 2025 event.

Penta Debuts New Entrance Song on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured Penta debuting a new version of his entrance theme song.

This new version of his theme song was stated by Michael Cole to feature guitarist Adam Jones of Tool providing the guitar rifts.

Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio for IC Title Announced for WWE Backlash 2025

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured one new match announced for the cad of Backlash 2025, which takes place on May 10th at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

This new match announced was a WWE Intercontinental Championship match of Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio (c).

This match was setup over recent weeks shows over the bad blood issues between Penta and Judgement Day.

CM Punk Makes Surprise Return on Monday’s WWE RAW Show

Monday’s WWE RAW show also featured CM Punk making his surprise return.

During the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Jey Uso, Bron Breakker tried to interfere to help out Rollins leading to Sami Zayn coming out to even up the odds. This led to a brawl breaking out between Zayn and Breakker on the outside. After some more action in the ring, Paul Heyman distracted the referee leading to Breakker taking out Uso with a spear on the outside. After some more action in the ring, Punk’s music played and he ran out with a chair in his hand. Punk proceeded to attack Breakker and then Rollins resulting in the referee throwing out the match. Punk continued his attack on Rollins and Breakker leading to the two scrambling out to safety as Punk and Zayn stood tall in the ring and Uso looking on from the corner to close out the show.

This was Punk’s first appearance since this past April’s RAW After Mania show.
