As noted before, former WWF, WCW, and NWA wrestler Billy Jack Haynes was arrested in February of 2024 following a shooting incident at his home in Portland, Oregon that resulted in the death of his wife.
ABC’s KATU 2 in Oregon reported that Multnomah County Judge Angela ruled on Wednesday that Hayes was “unfit to assist in his own defense” and unfit to stand trial based on recent court records.
Hayes reportedly was also ordered to be transferred to the Oregon State Hospital.
It was reported that another court hearing on Haynes’ fitness is currently scheduled to take place on May 20th.
It was also reported that Hayes’ trial is currently set to begin in December of 2025 but this is now in doubt due to he could be committed to the Oregon State Hospital for anywhere between a year to three years in length.
Hayes is currently facing charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon involving the death of his wife Janette Becraft.
