Booker T Comments on His Reason for His Over-The-Top Reactions for Stephanie Vaquer’s The Devil’s Kiss Move During Matches
Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo held a recent interview with WWE Hall of Famer and WWE NXT commentator Booker T. One of the topics discussed included Booker T’s thoughts about his reason for his over-the-topic reactions on commentary whenever Stephanie Vaquer performs her The Devil’s Kiss, headscissors head smash, move during her matches in NXT.
“It’s not for me. It’s not for me, it’s for Stephanie. It’s to shine some light on her because she is so friggin awesome. She’s such a great talent and doing such a great job in NXT. I didn’t see her being the one. I thought it was going to be Giulia or Zaria. Stephanie Vaquer came in there and has done such a great job as far as her in-ring performance as well as her entertainment value as well. We did the Bad Bunny thing together. She is such a cool person.”
Booker T also gave his thoughts about Vaquer’s reaction to his commentary antics whenever she does the move.
“I think she liked it because when she started doing it, she would point at me like, ‘Let’s get ready to have some fun.’ A lot of people look at it and go, ‘Booker T is trying to steal the shine.’ When I was a young wrestler coming up, the spinaroonie would not be the spinaroonie if it wasn’t for Mark Madden going crazy when I did it. Then, it became a household name. For me, I’m trying to do the same thing for these young guys and girls coming up.”

But yeah, I’ve got a few, I guess, but mine date back to usually the… The mid-80s or late 70s. I always put Terry Funk in there. I usually put Harley Race in there, Ric Flair and then that fourth one’s always a little tough for me. It goes to Tully Blanchard because that’s who I grew up with or Wahoo McDaniel.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with Unlikely’s Adrian Hernandez, Kofi Kingston gave his thoughts about his list of “Don’t” advice for fans when it comes to them seeing him in public especially when he is spending time with his family. Kingston stated “Don’t talk to me. Don’t think that because you bought a ticket that you have the right to shake my hand. Don’t come up to me and say, well, I bought a ticket to the show, so I should be able to get a picture, and you are obligated to come over to me. That is not true. I don’t have to do that. Do not come over and try to shake my hand and try to take a picture with me early in the morning when I’m trying to go to work. If I’m sitting in first class, when you are on your way to last class, don’t sit there with your camera and do a thumbs down so you can get a little viral show and go tweet that stuff out. Then don’t like people, don’t like the pictures and posts, when people post disrespectful pics like that, don’t like them because you perpetuate that. You perpetuate the negativity. If I am in my everyday life, going to work, doing what I want to do, if I’m hanging out with my family, I don’t need you to tell me how much I suck. Because look here. (gestures to championship) Look here. You see this? You see it? you see that? You see that? That means that I don’t suck. So don’t come across as a liar when you tell me that I do. When I’m on the top of the mountain with my boy, Xavier Woods, one half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions. We are your boys, The New Day.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
