As noted before, Drew McIntyre has been on a break from WWE since this past May’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Tampa, Florida to recover from his injuries that he had worked through for some time.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that besides McIntyre, Damian Priest also has been working through multiple injuries throughout much of his recent feud with McIntyre. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Priest had gutted through several matches while banged up earning praise from those within WWE for pushing forward despite the issues.
One source spoken to reportedly stated that working this year’s SummerSlam event was particularly important to Priest due to it taking place at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey being a “home game” of sorts for him.
Those spoken to within WWE’s creative team reportedly stated that Priest is currently expected to play a major role on the SummerSlam 2025 card and plans in motion to feature him prominently at the event.
