Full spoilers for July 4th WWE SmackDown show:
- Cody Rhodes came out to tthe ring to start SmackDown and was quickly interrupted by Randy shortly after. Orton admitted he hesitated to complete the punt kick on Cody during their King of the Ring Finals match and Cody pulled the trigger, and he respects that. Randy makes Cody promise him that he will take down Cena at SummerSlam for the Undisputed WWE Championship. This led to Drew McIntyre coming out and interrupts both Cody and Randy. McIntyre mocks the respect they have for each other and tries to get them to turn against each other only to get hit with a RKO from Randy.
- Charlotte Flair was seen backstage with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. Aldis proposes Charlotte go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles with Bliss in a #1 contender match against Secret Hervice. Flair eventually gives in and accepts the proposal.
- McIntyre and Aldis are seen backstage. McIntyre manages to gets a match with Randy Orton at next Saturday’s SNME show in Atlanta. Jacob Fatu shows up and gets face to face with Aldis. It’s announced that Fatu and Big Jim will have a tag match against 2 members of Solo’s stable tonight.
- Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defeated The Secret Hervice and Michin & B-Fab
- Nick Aldis is seen backstage with the entire SmackDown tag division, except for the Wyatt Sicks. Aldis makes a match putting one member of each of the 4 teams to team up and wrestle the Wyatt Sicks tonight.
- The Wyatt Sicks defeated Johnny Gargano, Berto, Montez Ford, & Chris Sabin
- WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton comes out to the ring. Stratton addresses her upcoming match with Jade Cargill at SummerSlam and stated that she also wants to defend her title at WWE Evolution. This led to Cargill coming out to interrupt. Stratton reveals she wants to defend against Trish Stratus, which led to Stratus coming out to accept and the two exchange some words.
- Andrade & Rey Fenix defeated Fraxiom
- Damian Priest and Aleister Black are seen backstage. Priest tries to explain R-Truth’s side of things to Black and says there was a match made next week between Truth and Black. This led to heated tensions between Priest and Black.
- Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso defeated Solo Sikoa & JC Mateo
WWE held a double set of television tapings on Monday at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The first taping was for Monday’s live episode of RAW while the second taping was for this week’s SmackDown show on Friday, July 4.
Among the notable moments from the tapings included WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus making a surprise appearance. During a promo segment between WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and 2025 Queen of the Ring winner Jade Cargill, Stratton announced that she will be defending her title against Stratus at Evolution 2.

Another notable moment included Drew McIntyre making his surprise return interrupting a promo segment between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. This led to the announcement of a singles match between McIntyre and Orton for the card of WWE’s upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show on July 12th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Qualifying Triple Threat Tag Team match – Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defeated The Secret Hervice (Alba Fyre & Piper Niven) and B-Fab & Michin. Flair and Bliss earned a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag titles at Evolution 2.
- The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, & Uncle Howdy) defeated Chris Sabin, Berto, Johnny Gargano, & Montez Ford
