WWE: Naomi on Her WWE Women’s World Title Victory, Triple H on Belief Women Do Not Need Their Own Show Just To Be in Spotlight & “We Shall See” for Potential of Evolution Becoming Annual Event, Seth Rollins Knee Injury Update

Naomi Comments on Her WWE Women’s World Title Victory

As noted before, Sunday’s WWE Evolution 2 event in Atlanta, Georgia featured Naomi cashing in her Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase and defeating Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY to become the new WWE Women’s World Champion.

WWE held an Evolution 2 post-show press conference featuring Naomi as a guest. One of the topics discussed included Naomi’s thoughts about her WWE Women’s World Championship victory.

“It’s everything. Me returning, I wanted to do better, be better, become better, and I think this solidifies that and it proves that.”

Naomi also gave her thoughts about her entrance tron having the words ‘underrated,’ ‘underappreciated,’ and ‘third wheel’ on it and what that says to those who may feel the same way about themselves.

“I think it speaks volumes and that’s why so many are connecting with this journey that I’m on and where I’m at right now. I think whether it’s wrestling or real life, I think we all experience moments or times in our life where we don’t feel appreciated, we don’t feel loved, we don’t feel seen, we don’t feel valued and sometimes, you have to adjust. You can’t keep doing the same thing, expecting a different result. Sometimes, you gotta stop being so nice and make people respect you and make people step to you properly and I think that’s what people resonate with. We’ve seen me over a decade be a genuine, loving, solid, good person, a good girl, a good character, good babyface, and I think everyone understands, I don’t care how good you are, everyone has a breaking point and sometimes, you gotta clock it! Check em! Treat them the way they treat you, and then you’ll get a little respect, and I think that’s where we at now. Hello! (She laughed)”

Naomi also gave her thoughts about her colleagues’ reaction to her victory.

“Very, very emotional. Very emotional, very cool, very surreal… To go to the back and just feel the love, that’s what touches me the most and what I enjoy and love the most is the reactions, you know what I mean? And just seeing so many new faces and talent but also… they’re like, ‘Oh, I been watching you since –’ we got a lot of NXT girls here — ‘I been watching you since Total Divas’ or, ‘I been watching you since NXT season three’ and just to see them get emotional and happy, it’s really cool. But it don’t matter (she laughed). It don’t matter. Because they ain’t getting no title shots.”

Triple H Comments on “We Shall See” for Potential of Evolution Becoming Annual Event in WWE

WWE’s Evolution 2 post-show press conference also featured WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Levesque’s thoughts about his belief that women do not need their own show just to be in the spotlight and it being a “we shall see” on the potential of Evolution becoming an annual event in WWE.

“It’s just an epic show. It was a women’s show, yes, but it was just an epic show. It was an epic WWE production show. I like that. I love the fact that the women are now every bit a part of the show in every aspect of it. At any point in time they can main event if it’s the story. It’s all there. Having a night like tonight where they can all come together and celebrate that, it worked out well here tonight. As we move forward, I don’t want to say it’s yearly or not yearly. I think we see what that demand is for it. As the demand for the women grows across the board every day, it becomes less about having their own show. That’s equality; it’s all there. They don’t have to have their show to be in the spotlight, but if it works, we’ll definitely go down that road again. It’s a ‘we shall see.'”

Seth Rollins Knee Injury Status Update – Triple H Says Rollins’ Injury Status Is “Inconclusive” But Doesn’t Look Good

As noted before, Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury during his match against LA Knight at this past Saturday’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show in Atlanta, Georgia.

In regards to WWE’s plans for Rollins’ Money in the Bank briefcase, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that WWE officials did not have any plans for Rollins to cash in his briefcase on either Gunther or Goldberg during their match at this past Saturday’s SNME show. Johnson reported that WWE officials had already set their plans in stone for Gunther for SummerSlam before the show and Rollins was never involved for it.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that his sources stated that Rollins was in attendance backstage at Sunday’s Evolution 2 event on crutches and wearing a brace on his knee.

During Sunday’s WWE Evolution 2 post-show press conference, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque provided an update on Rollins’ injury situation stating that the initial diagnosis is “a bit inconclusive” but it does not look good for him.

“A little bit inconclusive. Doesn’t look good. We’re in Birmingham tomorrow. He came here tonight, he was not going to miss his wife’s performance tonight. He was here, and he’ll be in Birmingham tomorrow with Dr. (Jeffrey) Dugas. We’ll get an MRI, hope for the best, and see where we can go with that.”
