Gabe Kidd Pulled from 7/23 NJPW G1 Climax 2025 Event & To Forfeit Tournament Match Against Shingo Takagi

As noted before, Gabe Kidd has been out of action for NJPW since last week due to a knee injury. Kidd had forfeited his G1 Climax 2025 tournament match against Zack Sabre Jr. due to his injury situation.

NJPW provided an update earlier today stating that they have pulled Kidd from tonight’s G1 Climax 2025 event in Nagaoka, Japan and he will be forfeiting his match against Shingo Takagi. It was also announced that Takagi will be automatically awarded the victory and two points as a result.

NJPW’s official website:

Gabe Kidd absent from Nagaoka, forfeits match 【G135】

Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Gabe Kidd, who sustained an injury to his right knee on day one of G1 Climax 35 competition July 19, has yet to be cleared for return and as a result, will miss July 23’s event in Nagaoka.

We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Kidd wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

Tonight’s scheduled match between Gabe Kidd and Shingo Takagi will be cancelled, and Takagi will earn two points via forfeit.

More information on Kidd’s status will be released as it becomes available.
