During the show, Tony Schiavone welcomed Ospreay to the ring. After some words by Schiavone about the match Ospreay had at All In Texas and the attack by the Death Riders, Ospreay responded stating that Tony Khan didn’t know he was going to be here as he flew himself in. Ospreay stated that he asked Khan for 5 minutes on the show to address something he was keeping as a secret. Ospreay revealed this to be him dealing with neck issues for over ten months. Ospreay apologized for not quite being on the level with the AEW medical team and for hiding this but he wanted to get us over the “finish line” in reference to getting the AEW World title away from Jon Moxley.
After some more words, Ospreay stated that after what the Death Riders did to him, he was rushed to a hospital room for an MRI. Ospreay stated that they found issues in two of his vertebrae but doctors said it was treatable and he is currently hoping to be back in time for next month’s Forbidden Door 2025 event. Ospreay then thanked Swerve Strickland for his help at All In Texas and Hangman Page for winning the title. Ospreay then stated that for the Death Riders, its eye for an eye and he will come after them soon enough.
