Former UFC Owner Lorenzo Fertitta Reportedly Rumored To Be Involved in Potential TNA Sale Talks

As noted before, TNA Wrestling is believed to be currently open to the idea of moving their weekly Impact! television series from its current Thursday nights to a Wednesday nights timeslot to go directly head-to-head against AEW Dynamite as part of the talks for a new potential television deal. TNA is also currently rumored to be potentially moving to a WWE-associated network of either The CW or A&E with The CW currently as the frontrunner.

Fightful Select reported that when contacted, TNA President Carlos Silva would not deny the rumors of TNA potentially moving to Wednesdays and to a WWE-associated network.

It was reported that their sources stated that there have been feelers from both TNA’s parent company Anthem’s side to find potential purchasers as well as potential buyers making offers.

In regards to AEW CEO Tony Khan revealing in the past that he was approached about potentially buying TNA before AEW started, it was reported that those spoken to stated that Khan was approached again a few years ago but opted against it. One source spoken to reportedly stated that there was not a lot of value for AEW in a TNA purchase due to most of the veterans in the company are on the ROH library instead of TNA’s library.

In regards to a potential future new owner of TNA, it was reported that former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta’s name emerged from meeting this week. It was reported that the current rumors within the wrestling industry is that Fertitta could be potentially involved in a rumored sale of TNA.

Fertitta reportedly is tied to TKO due to his former ownership of UFC, which is now under the umbrella of TKO. Fertitta did business with Dana White, who is the current President of UFC, for decades.
