As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, passed away this past July at the age of 71 due to a heart attack.
TMZ Sports reported that their sources stated that Hogan might have been a victim of medical malpractice for the cause of his death.
It was reported that an occupational therapist in Hogan’s home had told responding officers that the surgeon who did a recent operation on Hogan had “severed” his phrenic nerve.
In an official statement to TMZ, Hogan’s widow Sky confirmed that Hogan’s phrenic nerve was “compromised” during one of his recent surgeries. Sky reportedly also stated that an autopsy has been done but would not give the results.
In an official statement to TMZ, the Clearwater Police Department stated that the investigation into Hogan’s death remains ongoing.
“We have been in communication with family members — including his son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke. The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that. All of this takes time.
The Hogan family has been appreciative of our efforts and our communication with them.”
