Bandido Comments on Missing Over A Year in Wrestling Due to Wrist Injury
Vice held a recent interview with AEW World Tag Team Champion and ROH World Champion Bandido. One of the topics discussed included Bandido’s thoughts about him being on the shelf from wrestling for over a year due to his wrist injury in June of 2023.
“Well, well, you know, that was very hard for me. I thought… it will be like just six months. After my first surgery, they say, ‘Hey, your wrist is not good. We need to restart everything.’ So I feel very bad about it. But now I know that everything has a purpose, you know?”

It was reported that AEW CEO Tony Khan has been very involved in the vision of this storyline angle for El Clon and Hologram.
Swerve Strickland Comments on Becoming A Meme Being “As Long As It’s Not Offensive, I’m Cool”
This past July’s AEW All In Texas event featured Hangman Adam Page defeating Jon Moxley in a Texas Death match to become the new AEW World Champion. This match was notable for Page’s arch rival Swerve Strickland coming out to help take out the Death Riders at ringside. Following the match, a photo of Strickland giving a smirk looking on at Page’s victory quickly went viral online as a meme.
Complex Sports held a recent interview with Strickland. One of the topics discussed included Strickland’s thoughts about him becoming a meme following AEW’s All In Texas event.
“Whatever gets my face out there more, and if y’all can entertain this, as long as it’s not offensive, I’m cool.”
In response to the host showing Strickland the meme photo that went viral for him, Strickland stated:
“Yeah, the Michael Jackson person here, I’m like, ‘Umm?’ they make it seem like I’m a parody of myself. Like, I’m impersonating myself. The one where where they turn me blue, and they put me out coming out of a lamp. I appreciate all of them. Like I said, as long as it’s fun is not like derogatory, hurting anybody or being offensive, have your fun, have your way with it. It’s the internet. This is what we’re here for. Just don’t hurt nobody’s feelings, especially mine.”
