Taz Explains His Reasons For His Request to Move His Hardcore Hall of Fame Induction Off 9/4 AEW Dynamite Show

As noted before, AEW held a 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Taz prior to the start of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. This ceremony had been scheduled to take place during the show itself but was moved off at the request of Taz.

In a recent response to a fan on Twitter, Taz gave his reasons why he wanted his induction ceremony to be moved off of AEW’s show that night.

“Nah…as per my request no need to have it on tv. We have lots of current in ring wrestlers that should get the tv time…this isn’t about me, it’s 2025…I been retired for years. I do not want or need anyones tv time. Not how I’m wired.”

In response to a reply from the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer who disagreed and felt it should have been on television due to the importance of the moment, Taz responded stating:

“So you are disagreeing with they would call “my moment” and how I prefer to have it done? Haha…come on! People watching programming much different than years ago. People can still see it. It’s all online…I NEVER want to take tv time from anyone that’s still bumping or younger than me…that’s just how I feel for a long time…and that ain’t changing. No ego or insecurities for me!”
