Ronda Rousey Confirmed She Refused To Tap Out To Becky Lynch’s Armbar in WWE
A recent episode of The Lapsed Fan podcast featured former UFC fighter and WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rousey confirming that she had refused to tap out to Becky Lynch’s armbar at WWE Surivior Series 2018 and her reasons for her refusal.
“It was proposed that I tap out to her (Becky Lynch) armbar at Survivor Series, and I said, ‘My mother would disown me.’ Anytime anyone’s actually ever arm-barred me in real life, I’ve just let them dislocate it and I limp arm out. That’s why my ligaments are all f*cked up in this arm. So, I’m not gonna do it. Anytime anyone ever choked me out in competition, I just went out, and I don’t tap. I no tap motherf*cker. That’s how it is.
The only person I said I would ever allow to submit me was Shayna (Baszler), and that’s why I wanted to go out, so that’s how I went out. I didn’t tap out. Let her choke me out.”
Rousey also gave her thoughts about her MMA Rules match against Baszler at SummerSlam 2023.
“Well, I mean, I love that match (with Shayna Baszler at WWE SummerSlam 2023) because, it’s funny, it was super over with all the wrestlers in the back. I’ve never got more compliments from more people. Yeah, that was more at the point where I’m like, this is for us. Screw you guys.”

Matt Hardy Comments on If WWE Will Buy TNA in Future
A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host and current TNA talent Matt Hardy giving his thoughts about if he believes if WWE will end up buying TNA Wrestling in the future. Hardy also gave his thoughts about the possibility of WWE wanting TNA to remain operating independently as a potential competitor to AEW instead for their partnership.
“Once again, who knows? WWE could do anything. I feel like right now, WWE wants TNA to be a partner, someone that’s on its own, that is doing its own business in some capacity that they can use as a partner that can be there to be elevated as a strong promotion, maybe to one day compete with AEW. I’m just saying this hypothetically. I’m just saying as something that is right underneath WWE, there’s TNA, and they’re doing this. ‘We want to build these people. So it’s another organization that we are friends with, that we have a say with, that we can work together, we can have a partnership, and they can help us remain as the top number one promotion in the world.’
With that being said, I feel like that’s kind of the direction the relationship is right now, and it seems like everybody’s pretty cool with it. Will they buy them in the future? That’s always a possibility. WWE, buying anything is always a possibility, but as of right now, I don’t see it. I don’t see it happening anytime in the immediate future.”
