The Rock on Ava Carving Out Her Own Path in WWE
MTV UK held a recent interview with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at a recent event promoting his new The Smashing Machine film. Johnson was was accompanied by his daughter and NXT General Manager Ava at this event and interview. One of the topics discussed included Johnson’s thoughts about his praise of his daughter Ava for carving out her own career path in WWE.
“Oh man, I’m so proud of her. I got it. Let me lock in. I am so proud of her because it’s what I did and I love what I did and I love wrestling, I grew up in wrestling. She was born into it too just like I was and when she said, ‘Hey, I wanna do what you do.’ But the difference is — it’s where I get emotional because she’s like, ‘I wanna do what you do… I wanna carve my own path,’ and that’s the difference and that was a big deal when I heard that. You know, because it’s easy, I think, for any kid who wants to come up and do what their parents are doing to — maybe it’s not overt, but to utilize the influence. I’m telling you, it never happened. I never got that call. Like, hey, can you call someone? I never got that call and that’s the truth, and that’s the thing that makes me proud… When you don’t get that call — look, I would have been there anyway. I would have made that call. But when you don’t get it, it gave me a profound sense of pride because I was like, alright, I helped, with her mom, raise an amazing human being.”

Shotzi Blackheart on Her WWE Departure & Interest in Future Return
A recent episode of the Rulebreakers with Saraya podcast featured former WWE talent Shotzi Blackheart as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Blackheart’s thoughts about if she had ever expected to be let go from WWE prior to her release this past June.
“Yes and no. I had just came back from an ACL tear. So, coming back from a huge injury and not being on TV for like almost a year, I was kind of not surprised. They’re just like we lasted a year without you, so we’ll just let you go now that your contract is up. In that aspect, I wasn’t realized surprised.”
Blackheart also gave her thoughts about how she had felt disappointed that WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque didn’t really believe in her.
“I don’t know, I always thought that Hunter really believed in me, so it was a little disappointing. Yeah, I just felt like, dang, they gave up on me.”
Blackheart also gave her thoughts about how she was ready to show off the real version of herself after returning from injury.
“I was in such a bad space for a few years with everything that I was going through and I was coming back from injury so much stronger, not just physically but mentally too. I was just ready to kill it coming back and I didn’t even get the opportunity to. So, I felt like they left a lot of meat on the bone, I was coming back on fire and ready to give them me, like the real me. I didn’t get the chance to show it.”
Blackheart also gave her thoughts about being open to a potential return to WWE in the future.
“Not right now just because I’m having so much fun on the indies. I need more time to just do me and have fun before I go in there. I want to make so much noise here doing me to where I would go back there and just be undeniable. They couldn’t throw me into catering, they have to use me. I want them to be forced to utilize me.”

Charles Robinson Admits To Faking Rib Injury From Goldberg Spear at July 12th WWE SNME Show
As noted before, WWE referee Charles Robinson had stated this past July that he suffered a broken rib injury following a spear spot from Goldberg during Goldberg’s retirement match on the July 12th WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Show in Atlanta, Georgia.
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured Robinson as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Robinson’s thoughts about how he usually would take a spear from Goldberg.
“Normally, he lays me down nice and softly. He went right through me.”
Robinson also revealed that he had faked his rib injury.
“No. No. My girlfriend and I were in the room and I was like, ‘What can I do to put this over and make Goldberg feel good? Hmmm. There’s an image of a broken rib online.’ I called him to tell him what I was doing. He goes, ‘That’s a great idea.’ He didn’t mind. I was sore for about ten days. Can’t do anything about a rib anyway, so why go get it checked?”
