As noted before, a lawsuit was filed in November of 2023 by a group of WWE shareholders against former TKO and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon over claims that McMahon had engaged in a “sham sale process” for WWE’s sale to Endeavor.
Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that several new subpoenas were recently issued in the Delaware Chancery Court based on recent court records.
Thurston reported that one of the subpoenas issued was to former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, who was scheduled to be and presumably was deposed on Friday, September 26th. Thurston reported that Laurinaitis’ deposition was in the form of a Zoom meeting from his attorney’s office.
Thurston reported that Liberty Media and private equity firm KKR have also been scheduled to be deposed on September 30th and October 30th respectively. Both companies reportedly are currently believed to have been potential bidders for WWE when it was put up for sale by McMahon in 2023.
McMahon’s personal assistants, Paul and Michael (Mickey) Mangieri, reportedly have also been recently subpoenaed for documents related to this lawsuit.
Thurston reported that this lawsuit case is currently in the discovery phase and more depositions are currently expected to be made in the upcoming weeks.
