Team Captains Revealed for NXT vs. TNA Survivor Series Matches for Next Week’s NXT Show

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured NXT GM Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella announcing the team captains for the NXT vs. TNA Men’s and Women’s Survivor Series matches.

During the show, NXT Champion Ricky Saints came out to the ring to talk about his title victory over Oba Femi at NXT No Mercy. After some words, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jane came out to interrupt and after some words. Jayne was interrupted by Ava who came out and talked about the upcoming NXT vs. TNA matches. Ava revealed that Saints and Jayne are the official team captains for NXT’s teams.

This led to Marella coming out to interrupt and revealed that Mike Santana and TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan are the official team captains for TNA’s teams.

Marella also revealed that next week’s show has been officially renamed from its original NXT Invasion name to its new name of NXT Showdown.

Full Teams Revealed for Men’s & Women’s Survivor Series Matches at NXT Showdown

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured the full field of competitors revealed for the Men’s and Women’s NXT vs. TNA Survivor Series teams.

In regards to the NXT Men’s Survivor Series team, NXT Men’s team captain Ricky Saints announced that his selection for team members are Je’Von Evans, TNA World Champion Trick Williams, and Myles Borne.

In regards to the NXT Women’s Survivor Series team, NXT Women’s team captain Jacy Jayne revealed that her selection for team members are Jaida Parker, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice.

In regards to the TNA Men’s Survivor Series team, TNA Men’s team captain Mike Santana announced that his selection for team members are Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater.

In regards to the TNA Women’s Survivor Series team, TNA Women’s team captain Kelani Jordan announced that her selection for team members are The IInspiration (Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee) and Mara Sade.

Matt Cardona Makes Surprise Appearance

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured TNA talent Matt Cardona making a surprise appearance.

During the singles match between Josh Briggs and Myles Borne to determine the final spot for NXT Men’s Survivor Series team, Briggs attempted to use a wrapped chain fist as a weapon while the referee was distracted only for Cardona to show up to interfere. This led to the referee catching Briggs with the chain and Borne hitting the Borne Again for the pinfall victory.

Lainey Revealed as Jazmyn Nyx Mystery Attacker

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured Lainey Reid being revealed as the mystery attacker of Jazymn Nyx and mystery person at NXT No Mercy 2025.

During the show, Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne were seen backstage talking about Henley’s loss to Lola Vice for the final spot in Team NXT Women’s Survivor Series match for NXT Showdown. This led to Reid showing up and talked about how her not being medically cleared for her match at No Mercy didn’t mean that she wasn’t involved. Reid then pulled out a black hood and tossed it to Jayne revealing that she was the mystery person who attacked Lola Vice during Jayne’s NXT Women’s title match at No Mercy. Reid stated that Jazmyn didn’t really belong also revealing herself as Nyx’s mystery attacker from last week’s show.

Current Card for Next Week’s NXT Showdown Show

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show also featured one new match and two newly updated matches for the card of next week’s NXT Showdown show on October 7th at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

In regards to the new match, this was announced to be a NXT North American Championship match of Mustafa Ali vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page (c).

This new match was setup following an in-ring promo segment involving Page talking about his victory over Tavion Heights to retain his title at NXT No Mercy and how he is the greatest Canadian and North American to ever live. This led to Ali making a surprise appearance to interrupt and talked about how he has been owed a shot at the title that he had earned for the past two years and Page agreeing to put his title on the line next week.
