Fightful Select reported that their sources provided additional details regarding Santos Escobar’s expiring contract with WWE.
It was reported that those within WWE spoken to confirmed that Escobar’s contract officially expires as of midnight.
Those spoken to reportedly also stated that WWE officials had made attempts to re-sign him to a potential new deal but Escobar passed on the offers given to him.
Santos Escobar posted a cryptic tweet last week that featured an hourglass emoji which quickly led to online speculation of him potentially leaving WWE soon.

Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed that Escobar’s contract is set to expire as of midnight.
It was reported that there has been no signs of a potential contract extension being reached nor have they been able to confirm if Escobar and WWE had actual talks recently for an extension. It was reported that those spoken to only implied that it might have happened.
Escobar has been signed with WWE since August of 2019. Escobar last appeared in WWE for their tour of Mexico this past July.
