Brodido Retains AEW Tag Titles After Miscommunication By Okada & Takeshita

Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream 2025 event at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri featured Brodido (Brody King & Bandido) defeating Don Callis (Konosuke Takeshita & Kazuchika Okada) to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

During the match, Okada and Takeshita teased at their growing issues with each other and the possibility of them not being able to co-exist anymore. Near the end of the match, Okada attempted to hit a Rainmaker to Bandido who ducked and ended up accidentally hitting Takeshita instead who was next to him. This led to Takeshita slowly rolling out of the ring and Okada saying that he was sorry but had a big smile on his face. After some more back-and-forth action between Brodido and Okada, Bandido hit a 21-Plex to Okada for the pinfall victory.

Following the match, Brodido celebrated their victory with Bandido’s child who came into the ring. Takeshita started to leave and looked back noticing Don Callis was tending to Okada and not caring about him. Back in the ring, Brody King finally granted Bandido what he has always wanted, which was him doing the Macarena dance with Bandido.

The Opps Turn Heel on Hangman Page

Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream 2025 event also featured The Opps turning heel and attacking Hangman Adam Page.

Following Page’s victory over Samoa Joe to retain the AEW World Championship, The Opps’ Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata came out to celebrate the hard fought match between their fellow member Joe and the champion Page. Joe and Page shook hands and The Opps and Page raised up their hands in celebration. This turned out to be a ruse and Joe laid out Page with a lariat leading to Hobbs and Shibata joining in on the attack revealing they were also in on the plan.

The Opps continued their attack on Page laying him out to a loud chorus of boos from the crowd and then left the ring as AEW officials and medical came out to check on Page.

Mercedes Mone Challenges Kris Statlander for AEW Women’s World Title at AEW Full Gear 2025

Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream 2025 event also featured one new potential match for the card of Full Gear 2025, which takes place on November 22nd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

This new potential match announced was an AEW Women’s World Championship match of Mercedes Mone vs. Kris Statlander (c).

This new potential match was setup following a backstage promo segment involving Mone talking about Statlander ruining her historic night and its time for her to disrespect Statlander. Mone continued talking about how she’s beaten Statlander twice already so its time to come after her AEW Women’s World Championship and challenged her to a title match at Full Gear.

Current card for AEW Full Gear 2025:

Sting Makes Surprise Appearance & Darby Allin Wins I Quit Match

Saturday’s AEW WrestleDream 2025 event featured Sting making a surprise appearance.

Near the end of the I Quit match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley, Moxley and the Death Riders continued their vicious assault on Allin trying to get him to quit. This included Moxley dunking Allin’s head repeatedly in a fish tank full of water to get him to quit to no avail. This led to the lights going out and when it came back on, Sting appeared standing behind Moxley with his baseball bat. Sting proceeded to lay out the Death Riders as a shocked Moxley looked on.

Sting then handed his bat to Allin and left the ring.

This led to Marina Shafir confronting Sting and after some angry words at him, Sting picked her up over his shoulder and carried away. Moxley looked on still surprised over what happened and turned around seeing Allin with the bat in his hand. Moxley dared Allin to strike him and even kept placing the bat on his head. Allin responded nailing Moxley with several bat shots and followed it with a Scorpion Death Lock to lay out Moxley. Allin then locked in a Scorpion Death Lock to Moxley resulting in Moxley saying “I quit” and the referee calling for the bell.

Following the match, Allin celebrated holding up the AEW flag he had brought over from his Mt. Everest climb and thanked everyone who has supported him as the show went to a close.
