Tony Khan Calls Jon Moxley as AEW’s Harley Race & Ace Steel Responds Calling It “Utter Crap”

A recent episode of the My World with Jeff Jarrett podcast featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about who he would consider to be AEW’s version of Harley Race and why he believes Jon Moxley is that person.

“He’s won the most championships. He’s traveled the world. He’s a hardened veteran. He’s from the Midwest, and he’s a straight shooter, and he’s a great person who’s respected by his peers, who takes no gruff and is so respected as a pro wrestling veteran. Actually, many times in Jon Moxley’s matches, I’ve observed, it was like watching a great Harley Race match, or even someone like Harley Race’s great matches in Japan, reminds me of some of the great Jon Moxley matches. So there’s a lot of great influences and a lot of great wrestlers that contribute to Jon Moxley. But Jon Moxley is also an incredible, very unique personality in the world of pro wrestling, who I think it’s really cool that he draws comparisons to such a great champion like Harley Race.”

Following the release of the interview, former AEW coach and current TNA producer Ace Steel responded on Instagram calling Khan’s comparison of Moxley and Race as being “utter crap.”

“Count this as one (of) the dumbest and most blasphemous things I’ve ever read.. utter crap.. really infuriating, zero comparison.”

Mark Briscoe Comments on His Praise of RD Evans for Helping Him with Promos & Backstage Segments

Yahoo Sports’ Uncrowned held a recent interview with Mark Briscoe. One of the topics discussed included Briscoe’s thoughts about how his late brother Jay Briscoe used to handle the bulking of the promo and creative work for their tag team as The Briscoe Brothers.

“When it comes to the creative and the character stuff and the promos and stuff like that, my brother handled 99. 9% of all that stuff. He was the brains behind the character stuff and ‘Dem Boys’ and just the whole persona and the whole aura that we always had. He was the mad scientist behind the scenes.”

Briscoe also gave his thoughts about his praise of RD Evans for helping him with his promos and backstage segments work in AEW for his singles career.

“I tell you, as far as the creative team and the producers and the agents, my man, R.D. Evans, man, that’s my guy. Me and him work real well together, and he always has the best suggestions and the best tweaks and just things that he brings up are things I’m like, ‘Oh wow, why didn’t I think of that?’ You know what I mean? And so that’s my guy when it comes to doing promos and backstage.”

Backstage Update on Jay White’s Broken Hand Injury & Return Plans

As noted before, Jay White has been out of action for AEW since this past April due to a broken hand injury. Besides the hand injury, White has also been dealing with a shoulder injury that could potentially require surgery. White recently teased on social media about him being ready to make a return.

Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that despite White’s recent cryptic tweet, his sources close to White stated that he is still expected to be out of action for a while longer.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that White’s recovery is progressing but an imminent return isn’t in the cards for him yet.
